Day 10 of the National Games saw Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) extend their lead in the National games medal tally. Services added four more gold medals to their tally which took the total to 55. Apart from the gold medals, they did not manage to win any silver or bronze during the day.
Kerala catching up in the national games medal tally
Elsewhere, the fight for second place is still going strong between Maharashtra and Haryana. Both states have 27 gold medals each. Meanwhile, Kerala looks set to enter the race as well. The hosts won two gold medals on the day taking their gold count to 21 on the national games medal tally.
Kerala won seven silver medals and two bronze medals on the day as well. Madhya Pradesh also improved their medal count and climbed into to the top ten. Madhya Pradesh won 5 Gold medals on the day and surpassed Punjab who could not make a major move today.
Manipur was the other big mover of the day thanks to four gold medals.There are still a lot of medals to be won in the games and it will be interesting to see how the top contenders will eventually line up. Stay tuned to Sports Rediscovered for more updates on the 35th National games.
