The 35th edition of the National games came to a colorful end on Saturday. Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) won their third consecutive overall championship while hosts Kerala came in second in the Medal Table. Sports Rediscovered summarized the final National Games Medal Table
Third consecutive championship for Services
Services secured their third consecutive championship win after winning 91 gold medals. They also won 33 Silver medals and 35 bronze medals. It was yet another dominating performance from Services and they will be looking to build on the same at the next National Games.
Kerala wins hearts
Hosts Kerala might have settled for the second position but did lead the overall medals tally. Kerala had an overall medal count of 162 compared to Services’ 159. Kerala had 54 Gold, 48 Silver and 60 Bronze medals. The state also received special recognition from the President for being an excellent host.
Haryana came in third with 40 Gold medals while Maharashtra secured fourth with 30. Punjab won 27 Gold medals to sit pretty in the fifth position as well. Madhya Pradesh, with a gold count of 23 was sixth and Manipur was seventh with 22 Gold medals.
Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Assam rounded up the top ten winning 16, 10 and 9 Gold medals respectively. Here is the final medal table for the 35th National Games according to the Official Website.
