ISSF World Cup Shotgun: Indians Disappoint in Skeet

The Indian camp had another disappointing outing in the final event of the ISSF World Cup Shotgun championship in Acapulco, Mexico.

No Indian shooter managed a podium finish, with Mairaj Ahmad Khan producing the best results of the day by finishing in the 26th position. Khan scored a total of 118 points, with 25,24,24,22,23 hits in the qualification rounds. The only good news for India from Acapulco so far, remains Manavjit Singh Sandhu’s bronze in the men’s trap event.

Khan was followed by Angad Vir Singh Bajwa at rank number 46, with a score of 114 points (21,23,23,24,23), and Man Singh, who was ranked further back 76th, with 102 points (19,22,19,22,20).

Results:

USA’s Vincent Hancock bagged the brightest medal with a clean sweep, successfully hitting all 16 targets. Italian Valerio Luchini settled for silver (14 hits: 3,4,3,4), while compatriot Riccardo Filippelli took bronze, and an olympic quota with 16 hits.
