Roger Federer continued his unhurried march into yet another Wimbledon final. This is familiar territory for Roger Federer. His 9th entry into the Wimbledon Finals would not come as a surprise to anybody following his graceful progress at the tournament this year or over the period 2003 – 2008 where he routinely made the finals !
However this year it took a new coach in stefan Edberg and a resurgence in form for the 32 year old Swiss to reach this stage.
Today was a clinical display by the Federer of old. The Swiss waited for the right moments to accelerate past Milos Raonic for a routine 6-4, 6-4 , 6-4 win. and now Novak Djokovic beckons in what will be a smashing final this Sunday.
We have been expecting you here Mr Federer…
At 32 years of age and with the next generation of brat packs fast approaching , the music may not last forever for Roger, but all of us will stand by for one last tango.
