IPL has managed to capture the imagination of the fans over the years. It would not be any different this time around for IPL 2015. Here is a look at some new aspects of IPL 2015
Eight teams will lock horns with each other for the ultimate price in the format and it is sure to be a colourful two months. Before we embark on the exciting journey, there are certain things that set this season’s IPL apart from the previous editions in terms of new players and new rules.
1. Increased Budget cap
Most of the fans out there will be aware about the budget cap for IPL teams. Last year it was 60 crores but this time it has been increased to 63 Crores. There is a new rule in place that ensures a 5% increase every year.
2. Yuvraj out to prove his worth
All eyes would be on Yuvraj Singh this year as he sets out to play for Delhi Daredevils. The reason for this pressure would be his record breaking price tag of Rs. 16 Crore. The previous record stood for Yuvi itself thanks to his Rs.14 Crore signing for RCB back in 2014.
3. Fully hosted in India
Unlike last year, all of the matches of this season would be held in India. In the 2014 edition, due to clashes with general election, IPL 2014 was jointly hosted by India and UAE. This time around the tournament will be completely held in India.
4. Four IPL Teams that have never won the Trophy
Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad have yet to win the IPL and while all the eight teams will be looking to make a statement this year, these four teams will be more desperate to win. These are the teams that have never won the IPL and they will be feeling some extra pressure to deliver.
