Another forgettable day unfolded for the Indian shooters at the ISSF Shooting World Cup in Changwon on 13th April 2015 as all the Indian shooters were knocked out in the qualification rounds itself.
ISSF Shooting World Cup: 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women
Lajja Gauswami, Anjali Bhagwat and Susan Elizabeth Koshy were the representatives for India in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women event. All three women earlier had a promising outing in the Elimination relays but could not come up with a similar performance in the qualification round.
Elizabeth Koshy, who was fourth in the Elimination Relay could only manage to finish 20th in the qualification round. She had 576 points from the three positions. Meanwhile, Anjali Bhagwat had a disappointing day as she finished 57th in the qualification rankings with 566 points.
Lajja was the best shooter from the three and finished her qualification on 16th position. Lajja had a score of 578 points and was just three points away from making it into the finals.
10m Air Pistol Women
The 10m air pistol women event also had three Indian shooters in the mix but none of them managed to reach the finals. Heena Sidhu produced the best performance of the day by an Indian Shooter when she finished 10th in the qualification with 385 points.
Shweta Chaudhry finished 34th in the qualification and had 378 points to her name. Elsewhere, Annu Raj Singh was 55th in the standings with 375 points.
50m Pistol Men
The qualification round of 50m pistol Men event will see the likes of Vijay Kumar and Gurpeet Singh compete for a spot in the finals. Both shooters had solid results in the first stage of qualification and will be looking to keep up the level of performance in the second stage as well. The Qualification is scheduled to be held on 14th April, 2015.
