Chain Singh produced yet another good performance in the ISSF shooting World Cup

The 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men was the last event of the ISSF Shooting World Cup in Changwon. Sanjeev Rajput, Gagan Narang and Chain Singh were the representatives of India in the event and none of the shooters managed to make it to the finals.

Chain Singh had the better performance among the three as he finished 9th in the qualification round. He had a total point tally of 1173, one point away from qualifying for the finals. He had earlier finished 6th in the 50m Rifle Prone Men event and it was his best performance in the ISSF Shooting World Cup.

Gagan Narang meanwhile was 33rd in the qualification round with a grand total of 1162 points. Rajput was further down in the rank list and finished the campaign on 47th. He had 1155 points to his name.

The gold medal in the event went to Zicheng Hui of China. Matthew Emmons of USA and Jinseop Han of Korea won Silver and Bronze respectively.

Indian Shooters in ISSF Shooting World Cup  

The ISSF Shooting World Cup in Changwon was wrapped up with the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men event and looking back, the Indian shooters have had an average outing. Jitu Rai and Apurvi Chandela were the standout Indian shooters as both  managed to bring back a medal from the World Cup.

Apruvi won bronze in the 10m Air Rifle Women event while Jitu Rai won bronze in the 10m Air pistol event. Chain Singh was the next best performer from the lot and had a sixth place and ninth place finish.
