Sheikh Jewel Raja, Balwant Singh and Prabir Das have been slapped with bans by the AIFF on Monday. The trio have been found guilty of on-field altercations.
Jewel Raja slapped with fine and ban
India international midfielder, Jewel Raja was found guilty under article 49(D) of the AIFF disciplinary regulation. The Dempo SC midfielder was found guilty of aggressive conduct and usage of abusive language.
In the match between Pune FC and Dempo SC, Raja was alleged to have used unnecessary and unwanted language towards Pune FC goalkeeper Amrinder Singh. It has been reported that Amrinder Singh filed a complaint against Jewel Raja soon after the match concluded.
Jewel Raja has therefore been slapped with a two-match ban. However, for his theatrics towards the referee, the Indian international has been fined a whopping Rs. 50,000.
Prabir Das, a recent inclusion in Stephen Constantine’s side was found guilty under Article 58. It has been reported that Prabir used abusive language towards the referee during the same game.
Balwant Singh sentenced
Mohun Bagan forward Balwant Singh has been sentenced under Article 58 of the AIFF Disciplinary code. Balwant was involved in an altercation with the referee in the Mariners’ loss to Royal Wahingdoh.
Balwant Singh has now become the fifth player to be found guilty of misconduct in the 2014-15 season of the I-League.
