Indian Skating – Juniors Win 14 Medals At Hong Kong Skating Championship

India’s junior sportspersons are truly making their mark. A few days after the talented 16-year-old Pranjala Yadlapalli captured the Asian Junior Tennis Championships, there’s more good news from our juniors.

India’s under-15 skaters pocketed as many as 14 medals in the recently-concluded 14th Hong Kong International Speed Skating Championship 2015. The 14 medals included a whopping 7 gold medals, five silver and two bronze for the junior Indian skating champions.

Khushi Shah – the star of the International Speed Skating Championship

11-year-old Khushi Shah was the star of the show at the International Speed Skating Championship. Khushi won the gold in three races – 250, 500 and 1000m.

Apart from the young Khushi, the others who shone from the Ajay Shivlani-coached team were 10-year-old Riyansh Bhatia and 12-year-old Yug Moramkar. While Bhatia scooped up a silver and a bronze, Moramkar finished as the fourth runner-up.

Let us hope the budding speedskaters can continue to bring laurels for India.
