The IPL playoffs are just around the corner and the battle for places in the 2015 IPL Points Table is at its epitome.
Six-way battle for playoffs: RCB, KKR almost through
The lack of separation between the teams is making this year’s tournament super interesting. Chennai Super Kings are still leading the 2015 IPL points table with 16 points from 13 games while they are closely followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore who now have 15 from 13 games. A win against Sunrisers Hyderabad last night saw Virat Kohli’s team climb up to the 2nd spot.
Gautam Gambhir’s Kolkata Knight Riders also have 15 points from 13 games but is edged out by Bangalore due to an inferior net run rate. They have to win today’s game against Rajasthan Royals in order to qualify.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals are in a deadlock of 14 points each. It is the net run rate that separates the three teams at the moment. Sunrisers have the best run rate from the three while Mumbai fall second.
Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab will have to come back stronger next year as this outing hardly bore any fruit for these North Indian sides.
