Archana Kamath Makes It To Thailand Open Semifinal

Ace Indian paddler Archana Kamath’s run came to an end in the semifinals at SET Thailand Open Junior & Sub-junior table tennis tournament. Playing in the cadet girls’ category, Archana put up an absolutely flawless performance in the tournament hosted by Bangkok.

Archana Kamath’s run comes to an end

Having beaten Memkamporn Naja of Thailand in the pre-quarters 11-7, 11-2, 11-3, Archana was drawn up against  Srushti Halengadi in the quarterfinal. After overcoming fellow Indian Halengadi, Archana moved into the semifinals of the SET Thailand Open. However, her Chinese Taipei opponent, Ting Ting Chen proved to be a bridge too far for the Indian. Archana went on to lose in straight sets 9-11, 7-11, 8-11.

Utkarsh Gupta and Sarthak Seth crash out in Quarters

In the cadet Boys’ category, Utkarsh Gupta crashed out in the pre-quarters, while Sarthak Seth was ousted in the quarters.

Utkarsh Gupta went down to Tai Chun Yu of the Chinese Taipei 1-11, 11-13, 3-11, 9-11. Sarthak Seth went down to Cho Daeseong of South Korea 9-11, 11-4, 11-3, 9-11, 11-3 in the quarter-finals.
