Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be in a do or die battle in the 2015 IPL Qualifier 2 Match Today

The weather is predicted to be mostly sunny for Friday although there were shades of clouds on Thursday. This will be the first IPL game this season in the stadium and the wicket is expected to be unpredictable. From the history however, it favours the team batting second.

Head to Head:

Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore have squared off 18 times in the past. Chennai have a brilliant record against their South Indian rivals, winning 11 of those matches while 7 wins went to Bangalore. They met twice in this year’s IPL with both the matches going in favour of Chennai Super Kings.

Team News:

Both teams are not likely to make any big changes to their lineup as most of the important players are fit. Chennai will still miss the presence of Brendon McCullum who is out due to international commitments. Royal Challengers might stick with the team that destroyed Rajasthan Royals as they would want a similar result against Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai is coming into the match with a forgettable run of games. They have only won two out of their past five matches. Royal Challengers on the other hand will be feeling confident after the win against Rajasthan Royals. They have won three out of their last five matches while one was washed out.

Players to Watch Out:

Bangalore is heavy on their batting lineup and has the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Mandeep Singh to fire. Chennai also have some firepower as almost their entire lineup is good enough to make contributions. It’s going to be a tough battle in the bowling department as well but Chennai’s Ashish Nehra – Ravichandran Ashwin pairing will pose problems for Bangalore.
