Asian Cadet Wrestling: India Finish Second In Free Style

India ended their Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship campaign on a high after securing second place in the Free style. The Indian wrestlers won four medals on the last day.

India finished Strongly in the Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship

The Championship was held at the KD Jadhav wrestling stadium in Delhi. India had a strong showing in the previous days and continued their run on the last day as well. Divya clinched the gold medal in the women’s 70kg category. She defeated Byambadorj Tsetsegbayar of Mongolia 3-2 for the medal.

Apart from the gold, India won three bronze medals as well. Deepak finished third in the 85kg Greco Roman Style to win the first bronze. The second one came thanks to Sumit who won a bronze in the 100 kg Greco-Roman category.

Monu also won a bronze medal when he finished third in the 46kg freestyle division. With these medals, India finished second in the freestyle category. They had a total of 74 points. Iran secured first position with 77 points while Uzbekistan had the third spot with 56 points.

In the Greco-Roman category, India finished fifth with 56 points. Iran topped this category as well, piling up 82 points. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan finished second and third respectively.

India managed to finish in second place in the women’s category as well. They had 80 points while first placed Japan had 92. Kazakhstan was third with 67 points.
