Emerging Indian shuttler HS Prannoy made it to the finals of USD 12,500 Indonesian Masters Grand Prix Gold in the men’s singles category in Palemburg, Indonesia.
Prannoy, who was the runner-up in the recently concluded USD 50,000 Vietnam Grand Prix, defeated Daren Liew of Malaysia. He had earlier defeated Indonesian player Riyanto Subagja 21-13, 21-19 in a quarterfinal match that ended in 37 minutes.
His training partner, Praneeth, could not make it to the next round after he lost 15-21, 16-21 to ninth seed Liew in the other quarter final. Praneeth earlier beat fellow Indian Ajay Jayaram on Thursday but could not overcome Liew.
With this Prannoy continued his winnig streak against Liew. the Indian had won in the 2012 Mayasia Open GP Gold.
This is also the second consecutive final for Prannoy and he is now close to winning his first International title.
