Although the Indian Women Cricket team went down in the T20 series, there was some joy for them in the third T20. Playing in Bangalore, the Indian eves put up a valiant fight against a spirited New Zealand side to win the third match.

Squaring off on a particularly greenish wicket, the Indian eves succeeded in reducing their Kiwi counterparts to 126/8 in 20 overs. The decorated Suzie Bates top scored for her side with 34 off 33 before being undone by the wily leggie Poonam Yadav. Rajeshwari Gayakwad was the pick of the bowlers and finished with figures of 3/17 off her 4 overs.
In spite of getting off to a start far from ideal, Veda Krishnamurthy (34) and Anuja Patil (22) ensured that the Indian eves secured the win with 3 wickets and an entire over to spare.
