U Mumba defeated Puneri Paltan by 28-21 on Tuesday owing to a strong all-round performance. U Mumba came from behind in the last 10 minutes of the game and managed to build a healthy lead. With this win, the Anup Kumar-led side completed a 100% record, winning all four matches on their home turf.
For U Mumba, Shabeer Bapu scored eight raid points while Rishank Devadiga got seven, including two in the last five minutes of the game.
U Mumba nose ahead in closely-fought first half:
In the first of the Maharashtra derbies this season, both teams relied heavily on their defenders as most of the raids went empty. In a low-scoring first half,Mumbai were 10-9 ahead of their opponents.

The second half saw Puneri Paltan surge ahead as they picked up some quick points to put U Mumba under pressure. However, the visitors failed to hold on to their lead for long as the fragility in their defense was exposed by Shabeer Bapu, Anup Kumar and Rishank Devadiga.
U Mumba surged to a 22-18 lead to virtually seal their rivals fate. At full time, the score read 28-21 and U Mumba won with a bigger margin than what they had bargained for at half time.
Wazir Singh was the pick of the Pune players with seven raid points. The Pune skipper was given decent support by substitutes Mahipal Narwal, who got four raid points, and Pravin Niwale, who scored two.
