In their last match at home, the Jaipur Pink Panthers needed to make a statement, but failed to capitalize on the momentum of their previous win. They lost to a resurgent Dabang Delhi side who were bang on target as the final score read 35-27.
Defending champions cornered by Dabang Delhi:
Jaipur Pink Panthers lacked focus early in the first half and ended up giving away a huge lead to their opponents. They were completely overpowered by the national capital outfit as Kashiling Adake and Rohit Choudary picked up raid points and skipper Ravinder Pahal was rock-solid at the defence.
The Pink Panthers tried lifting their game towards the latter part of the first half. However, they were no match to the solid display of raiding and defending put up by Dabang Delhi. The visitors walked away with a vital seven-point lead at the end of the half as the score read 17-10.
Jaipur big guns fail to fire, Dabang Delhi cruise towards victory:
K. Bhaskaran, the Jaipur coach made a tactical substitution early on, hoping to impact the opposition psychologically by introducing defender Rohit Rana for captain Navneet Gautam. The change did not create a significant difference as visitors Dabang Delhi went on to build a bigger lead and eventually inflict another all-out to go 27-17 ahead. Kuldeep Singh, who played an important role in Jaipur’s win over Bengaluru on Tuesday failed to put up a similar show as he managed only 2 successful raids out of 10 attempts. Star raider Jasvir Singh was also off-colour, as the smiling assassin pulled out 3 successful raids out of 15 attempts.
It was Dabang Delhi who dominated throughout the game and had the Jaipur Pink Panthers down to counts. The final score read 35-27. Captain and defender Ravinder Pahal was instrumental in leading his team to yet another successful outing and was adjudged the star of the match.
