Last year’s Pro Kabaddi League runners-up U Mumba continued their scintillating run by outsmarting Dabang Delhi. After clinching its seventh win in a row, U Mumba are now at the top of the table with 35 points, a tally which is sure to give them a last four berth.
Titans, Bulls in fight for second spot as U Mumba secure semifinal berth:
With a cent-percent record at the PKL season 2 so far, U Mumba are certainly the team to beat and are expected to finish the league stage at the no. 1 position. Telugu Titans and Bengaluru Bulls are in a close fight for the second spot with only a solitary point separating both the teams. The Titans hold the no. 2 spot currently with 26 points but are closely followed by Manjeet Chhillar-led Bengaluru Bulls, who stand third with 25 points.
Fourth spot up for grabs; Dabang Delhi frontrunners
Dabang Delhi, who suffered a loss at the hands of hosts Patna Pirates on Friday, earned a point to go up to 16 points and stay at the fourth position.
After a humiliating loss against Telugu Titans, Patna Pirates got their second win in three matches at home as they overpowered Puneri Paltan 32-28 at the Patliputra Sports Complex. In match 28, Patna Pirates and Bengal Warriors played out the first draw of Pro Kabaddi League season 2 and ended up winning 3 points apiece. As a result, Patna remain in the fourth place with 20 points.
Jaipur Pink Panthers stay sixth, Pune, Bengal face elimination scare:
Title holders Jaipur Pink Panthers registered only their second victory of this season by beating Puneri Paltan 29-35. The victory helped them stay afloat at the sixth position as they have 13 points from 7 games. The tied game against Patna put the Bengal Warriors ahead of Puneri Paltan by a point. Both teams have managed only one win at the league so far. Pune are pretty much rooted to the bottom and might face yet another elimination if they fail to make a comeback in the next game.
