The Indian defense was exposed for the first time as the previous game against Maldives had not stretched the defense too much. Korean striker Yoo Younga scored 4 goals while midfielder Jeon Gaeul scored thrice. Jung Seolbin and Park Heeyoung were other players who got their names on the scoresheet.

The Koreans began domination early in the 7th minute with Jeon Gaeul opening the account for the hosts. Yoo Younga followed with another super strike 2 minutes later. The third goal was scored by Park Heeyoung in the 36th minute. Before half time, Gaeul and Yoo Younga added a goal each in the 40th and 45th minute to take the tally to 5-0.

India was under tremendous pressure throughput the match and could not take even a single shot at the Korean goal. The hosts were in no mood to spare their opponents as they continued with a flurry of goals from Jung Seolbin. Gaeul and Yoo Younga also looked in great touch and completed their hat-tricks. The Koreans had 68% possession throughout the game.

India play Thailand in their next match on the 21st and they will have to perform much better in order to qualify for the knockout stage. Earlier in the day, Thailand defeated Maldives 10-0. Thailand had lost to Korea 5-0 in their opening game. Both the teams find themselves in the same boat and the India Thailand tie will decide which team will stay on in South Korea.
