Indian star cueist Pankaj Advani successfully defended his IBSF World 6 Reds snooker title after defeating Chinese teen sensation Yan Bingtao in the summit clash. This title win, came after an average performance by Pankaj Advani during the earlier group stages and once again highlights the finishing ability of the Indian champ.
In a fairly one-sided match, Advani got the better of his Chinese opponent with a score of 6-2 in Karachi, Pakistan. Earlier Pankaj Advani and Yan Bingtao defeated Pakistani title hopes Asjad Iqbal and Mumammad Asif respectively in the semi-finals.
On the eve of the tournament, Pankaj Advani had mentioned the need to combine caution and aggression and the final proved to be the right stage to demonstrate those attributes. With this win, Pankaj Advani also made amends for his loss to Yan Bingtao earlier this year in a tournament in India.
With days left for our 69th Independence day, Pankaj Advani has once again made the nation proud. Interestingly, Advani had clinched his 11th world title a year ago in Glasgow, Scotland. Find our coverage of the event here:
