The Indian shooters failed to reach the final rounds of 50m rifle 3 position and 10m air pistol event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup held in Gabala.
The 50m rifle 3 position saw some good presence by the Indians. However, none of the girls could manage a solid finish. Lajja Gauswami was the highest finisher for India when she finished 27th with a score of 579. Elizabeth Susan Koshy finished 43rd when she scored a total of 576. Anjum Moudgil was 46th in the rankings with her score of 575.
ISSF Shooting: Bad luck for Men as well
While the women struggled to make their mark on the fifth day, the men shooters struggled as well. In the 10m Air pistol event, Gurpeet Singh finished 18th with a score of 578. He was closely followed by Jitu Rai, who finished 20th with a score of 576. Omkar Singh had a score of 575 and finished in the 24th position.
Elsewhere, Surendra Sinh Rathod had an impressive finish of 12th in the 50m rifle 3 positions event for men. He had a score of 1165 in his elimination round. Chain Singh finished 15th with a score of 1161 while Gagang Narang finished at 25th thanks to his score of 1158.
