U Mumba look to better Pro Kabaddi League record

The first semi-final of the Pro Kabaddi League will see the best defensive side of the tournament, U Mumba, take on giant- killers Patna Pirates. The Pirates qualified to the semi-finals at the cost of last year’s defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers.

U Mumba, who lost just two games in the league phase of the tournament, have a well-balanced outfit spearheaded by their best player and captain Anup Kumar. On the other hand, Patna Pirates is a team with numerous young players with the potential to turn the tides. Patna Pirates international player Tae Deok Eom has been in phenomenal form of late.

The Mumbai side advance to the semis in full strength, while the pirates will miss their captain Rakesh Kumar and Ravi Dalal due to injury.

When you compare these two teams on the basis of statistics, are almost similar.

U Mumba (last year’s runner-up) will be disappointed, if they have to bow out once again at the crucial stage and may well be termed chokers soon. The game between these two could go either way, but looking at the dominant performances that U Mumba had throughout the league stage giant killers Patna will need to be cautious.

Bengaluru Bulls vs. Telugu Titans

Ajay Thakur will be key for Bengaluru in Pro Kabaddi League Semis

The two teams are set to lock horns in the second match of the Pro Kabaddi League semi-finals.

Bengaluru have got the better of Telugu Titans twice this season and would want to edge out the Titans, but the latter will look to turn things around. The Titans’ Iranian captain Meraj Sheykh has caught the eye of the spectators with his all-round play.

Titans would rely on their attacking duo of Rahul Chaudhary and Sukesh Hegde, while the Bulls would respond through Captain Manjeet Chillar and star raider Ajay Thakur, who would be all geared up for the clash having rested in the previous two matches.

Key Stats Bengaluru Bulls Telugu Titans
Successful Raid (%) 31 43
Successful Tackles (%) 40 30
Super Tackles 16 16

Looking at the stats both the teams are quite opposite to each other. Bengaluru Bulls are defensively strong and weak in the attack, while the Titans have an amazing attack compared to their weaker defense.

At this stage of the Pro Kabaddi League there are no favourites or underdogs as anything can be expected. Both these encounters will only result in a high-voltage drama.
