Four Indians among possible qualifiers at US Open 2015
Yuki Bhambri, Somdev Devvarman, Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan are in the mix for a qualification berth in the US Open 2015 Men’s singles event.
Amongst them only Somdev has past experience of playing in the US Open and his best performance in singles event has seen him get to the second round of the tournament twice (2009 and 2013). This year the Tripuri plays his sixth US Open and should not have much difficulty in getting to the second round of qualification as he goes up against Norbert Gombos of Slovakia who would be playing his first US Open tournament.
Amongst others, Delhi boy Yuki Bhambri is up against Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan, who could be quite a tricky opponent for the Indian to face early in the draw. The Japanese player recently gained media attention for an unbelievable behind the back shot. (Watch it here)
Saketh Myneni will take on Jan Lennard-Struff of Germany and Ramkumar Ramanathan will be trying his skills against Pedro Sousa of Portugal.
