Wimbledon winner Novak Djokovic faced a bit of a hurdle in his fourth round fixture against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut. On the other hand, Mirza-Hingis pair enjoyed a comfortable victory in third round of women’s doubles.
Novak Djokovic made to work hard for win
As expected, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic sailed through a comfortable first set, winning 6-4. However, his journey towards the next round faced a slight hurdle as the Spaniard was determined to cause an upset. Agut took the second set from Djokovic 4-6. The Serbian had vast experience on his side and did not let the loss of the second set burden him ahead as he took the next two sets to win the match 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 and 6-3.
This is the first match in which Novak Djokovic dropped a set, in the US Open 2015.
Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis enjoyed a comfortable outing against Michaella Krajicek and Barbora Strycova. The Indo-Swiss pair took the match in under an hour, winning 6-3 and 6-0.
