Dutch Open is all set to bear good news for India as there are representatives in the Men’s Singles and Doubles Finals.

Ajay Jayaram cruised into the finals of the Dutch Open by defeating Goh Soon Huat. It was a comfortable win for the Indian, taking the match with a score of 21-14, 21-15. Ajay will now face Raul Must of Estonia in the final of the tournament. Raul is seeded 12th in the tournament whereas Ajay is seeded third.

In the Men’s Doubles category, the team of Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri found their way into the finals. They had a date with Andrew Ellis and Peter Ellis in the Semi-Finals. The Indian duo managed to come out with a win. The final score read 22-20, 19-21, 21-14. The Indian pairing is seeded second in the tournament and will now face seventh seeded Malaysia pairing of Kien Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tan in the finals.

Journey of Attri and Reddy

While the other doubles teams from India struggled, Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy managed to make a mark in the Dutch Open this year. They started the campaign by defeating Ruben Jille and Robin Tabeling of Netherlands in the first round and defeated another Dutch pair of Mark Caljouw and Jelle Maas in the next round. A win against the fifth seeded German pairing of Max Schwenger and Josche Zurwonne followed in the quarter finals.
