Yuki Bhambri could very well become the first Indian player to qualify for the ATP Challenger Tour Finals – which brings together the top eight players of the ATP Challenger circuit – in Brzail at the end of the year.
India’s Yuki Bhambri is on track to qualify for the ATP tour Challenger Finals, which brings together the Top 8 players of the year on the ATP Challenger Tour – the second tier on the men’s professional circuit below the ATP World Tour. Bhambri is currently in seventh place in the race to the event which takes place in Brazil at the end of November.
Korea’s Hyeon Chung is currently leading the standings with 582 points while Bhambri is at No. 7 with 446 points. The 23-year-old has had his best season on the tour this year, breaking into the Top 100 of the world rankings for the first time in his career. Bhambri has won 15 of his last 18 matches on the ATP Challenger circuit, rising more than 50 spots in the last few months in the rankings.
Bhambri is next scheduled to play in next week’s ATP Challenger event in Pune, where he will be one of ten Indians in the main draw.
