FC Goa came out with a 2-1 win against Kerala Blasters in a game where the latter team dominated.
The match which was held in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa was dominated by Kerala Blasters though the result was not in their favor. The away team had a large chunk of possession and made good use of it when they went ahead in the 24th minute through Mohammed Rafi. Rafi was unmarked in the box and the veteran striker calmly headed in the ball to get his second goal from two games.
Goa did struggle to get the score in their favour but Kerala proved to be too good to break down. However, in the 45th minute, against the flow of play, Goa equalized through Leo Moura.
Kerala Blasters dominate Second Half but fails to find a goal
The second half of the match saw Kerala once again piling the pressure on Goa. Goa was not able to match the aerial power that Kerala possessed and was losing out all the headers. Goa coach Zico did make changes into the second half in an effort to break the deadlock and the move saw results come his way in the 83rd minute.
For the first time in the match, Kerala captain Peter Ramage failed to win a header and Goa player Gregory Amolin was there at the right time to snatch a goal.Kerala did try desperately to get level but luck was not on their side. With the win, Goa has moved to top of the table meanwhile Kerala suffered their third consecutive defeat.
