Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri had a decent finish at the Hong Kong Open Golf and finished on the seventh spot.
Anirban Lahiri misses out on last day
Lahiri had a strong start to the tournament and was lying on a sole third before he entered the final round. However, despite the strong foundation, Lahiri failed to capitalize and had a round of 71. This took his total to 10-under 270, only good enough to give him the seventh place.
“I think I played pretty solid. Obviously a disappointing back nine today. Just felt like I ran out of gas today and I just didn’t have much energy left in the tank. I think it’s going to be a lot of rest before I tee it up next week on Thursday, but I m playing well,” Lahiri said.
Elsewhere, Jeev Milkha Singh finished his campaign with a 24th place finish. He had a last round of two-over 74 and a total of six-under 274 in the tournament. Jeev was tied for fourth heading into the last round but just like Lahiri, he fell short in the final hurdle.
Gaganjeet Bhullar finished strongly on 13th after come up with a total of seven-under 273. Other Indians in the mix, Jyoti Randhawa and SSP Chawrasia finished tied for 59th. Justin Rose of England went home with the title while Lucas Bjerregaard of Denmark finished second as he trailed by a shot.
