Indian Golfer Anirban Lahiri finished 21st in the CIMB Classic Golf Tournament after carding two-under 70 in the final round.
Lahiri opened the day with a bogey. It was definitely not a good start for the Indian, but he produced three birdies in the next six holes to get his game back on track. He did have a chance to climb the standings but only managed one birdie and one bogey in the final holes. Lahiri had a total of 14-under 274 and gave him a prize money of USD 78,400 from the tournament.
Decent Week For Anirban Lahiri
Despite the finish, Lahiri admitted that it was a decent week for him.
“I didn’t get any momentum. Having said that, it’s not a bad week. It’s a decent week, but definitely not what I had hoped for. I didn’t hit my irons very good this week. I think that has been my strength over the last few weeks but this week my iron play wasn’t very good,” he said.
SSP Chawrasia, the other Indian representative in the tournament, had an under-par 71 in the last round and finished tied for 73rd. Chawrasia had a total of three-over 291 from the four rounds. The title went to Justin Thomas who managed to overcome a double bogey in the final round to claim 66 and a total of 26-under 262. Adam Scott was just one shot behind and finished the tournament in second place.
