Qatar Classic: Unseeded Joshana Chinappa Thrives

India’s Joshana Chinappa continued her great run against the Egyptians. In the second round she played Yathreb Adel and overcame the Egyptian comfortably in straight sets.

Joshana Chinappa remains only Indian to advance in Qatar

Joshana’s compatriot in women’s squash Dipika Pallikal lost to Egypt’s Yathreb Adel in the opening round. From the men’s Saurav Ghosal failed to advance. This leaves Joshana as the lone Indian in the contest.

Joshana took some revenge for her fallen compatriot defeating Adel in the second round.

In the first game the Indian faced certain hard-ship as the set was drawn into deuce. But the Indian finally managed to pull two points ahead winning the game at 16-14. With the lead in hand, Joshana played more freely as she ousted Adel comfortably in the next two sets 11-8, 11-8 to advance to the next round of the competition.

Only unseeded player to survive

Winning the second round at Qatar Joshana is the only unseeded player to advance into the crucial stages. She will not be pressurised by the seeding as she defeated the top seed in her first round.
