FC Goa and FC Pune City ended their Indian Super League match in a thrilling 2-2 draw and shared points.
Adrian Mutu comes to the rescue of FC Pune
The game was balanced in the first half as both teams were getting equal opportunities. Adrian Mutu, who started the game, was seeing plenty of action and so was Nicky Shorey. Pune drew first blood in the match through Eugeneson Lyngdoh in the 33rd minute. The Indian slotted in a great assist from Didier Zokora and the goal raised the tempo of the game.
The lead of Pune was short-lived. Goa’s new signing Rafael Coelho scored through a solid effort in the 36th minute and brought his team back into the game. Just seven minutes later, Goa took the lead through Lucca, in turn ensuring Goa went into the second half with a 2-1 advantage.
The first twenty minutes of the second half started off in a cagey manner. Pune was making efforts to get back on level terms but Goa showcased great defending. Mutu was the show stealer in the second half as well and he had numerous chances throughout the second half.
To add more fire power to the team, Pune brought on Tuncay Sanli and his introduction immediately impacted the game. The Pune attack was looking livelier with Tuncay in it. The game entered into stoppage time and just when Goa was ready to celebrate, Mutu came up with a stunning goal to make the score 2-2.
