Pankaj Advani has made it to the semi-finals of the IBSF Snooker Championship being held at Hurghada, Egypt.
Pankaj Advani – Lone Indian in the men’s category
As things stand now, Advani is the lone Indian in the men’s category. He defeated Alex Borg of Malta 6-0 to guarantee his spot in the Semi-Finals. He won the best of 11-break match against Borg with a score of 70-62 112-0 (57) 107(90)-14 83 (50)-46 114 (108)-12 64-27.
He had earlier defeated Peter Bullen of Belgium. Advani currently has 14 World Championships to his name and could make it 15 if he goes all the way in this tournament. Advani will now face the winner of Greg Kasey vs. Lukas Kleckers match. Elsewhere, Indian Rafath Habib failed to reach the medal round as he was defeated by Jason Peplow of Malta. Other Indians who exited include Dharminder Lily and Faisal Khan.
Amee Kamani was the other Indian who reached the Semi-Finals. She defeated fellow Indian Chitra Magima in the Women’s category to enter the medal round. The score read 4-3 in favor of Amee.
