India made remarkable recovery, but ended in a draw in first hocket test
Australia broke the deadlock in the ninth minute of the game scoring a crucial field Dylan Wootherspoon. The Indian team in the recent past have been poor performers having conceded the goal early in the game. However, that was not the case here and India took its toll of time but came back with a strong retaliation. The Indian efforts were finally rewarded in the 28th minute as VR Raghunath equalised from the penalty corner.
The game went into half-time at the score of 1-1.
India kept up their attack early in the second half and took the lead for the first time in the game. Raghunath completed his brace in the 43rd minute and India were 2-1 up in the game. The game still anybody’s for the taking with the second half still in play. Australia found the equaliser in the 58th minute through a penalty corner converted by Chris Ciriello.
The next hockey test will be played at Raipur on 22nd November 2015.
