It is time for some Indo-Pak sporting event at Malaysia in the finals of the Junior Asia Cup. The Indian youngsters went on comfortably to beat Japan for the second time in the tournament. On the other hand, Pakistan overcame a determined Korea in the shoot-outs.
India thrashed Japan 6-1 in semis of Junior Asia Cup
The two sides met in the opening pool A fixture and the game ended in a close contest with a 2-1 victory for the Indian side. Facing each other again in the Semis, Japan faced a nightmare of a game against the high scoring India.
India’s leading goal scoring in the tournament Harmanpreet Singh shot another brace to take up his tally to 11 goals. The likes of Manpreet Singh Jr, Mandeep Singh, Vikramjit Singh and Varun Kumar added a goal each for India. The only retaliation from Japan came Yamada Shota in the 48th minute as a consolation goal.
The Indian side went up 4-0 at half-time with hardly any response from Japan.
