Indian golfer Rahil Gangjee had an impressive fifth place finish in the Manila Masters Golf tournament after carding a 12-under 276.
Gangjee had a memorable last day at the tournament and finished with a great score of four-under 68 to secure his finish. He had three consecutive birdies on the last round and jumped seven places due to the same.
Elsewhere, SSP Chawrasia was another Indian who performed well in the tournament. He had a final day score of 70 to add to his scores of 70, 70 and 67 which helped him to finish tied for 14th in the tournament. Jyoti Randhawa, on the other hand finished tied for 25th by carding a four round total of seven-under 281. The final round saw a big boost for Randhawa as he jumped a whopping 33 places to finish 25th. S Chikka finished tied for 32 while Shubhankar Sharma and Shiv Kapur tied for 53rd in the tournament.
The title went to Thailand’s Natipong Srithong. He came out with a great victory over J Kruger of South Africa with a total of 15-under 273 to his name.
“I was really motivated to play well because I have no status on the Asian Tour. I thought if I didn’t win, I will go to Qualifying School to get my card. I don’t have to anymore,” he said after the win.
