Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City FC engaged in a 1-1 draw in a crucial game in the 2015 Indian Super League.
It was a must win game for both Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City as a loss or a draw would have dashed their hopes of making it into the final four. Both teams were thus desperate to get the three points. Chances were created at both sides throughout the first half, but it was the home side that got the lead.
Sony Norde’s corner in the 25th minute found Juan Aguilera in the box and Aguilera made no mistake from ten yards. The slender lead forced Kerala to chase the game and they were trying to get something out of the match.
The attacking force with consisted of Antonio German, Chris Dagnall, Josu and Pulga were getting chances every now and then. German, in particular, got a string of chances but all of them went wide of the goal.
He did get his team back in the 89th minute when he shot in a sloppy volley into the net to make it 1-1. With four minutes added on, Kerala tried to get the killer goal and they did. But it was ruled out due to the Off-side rule and the match ended as a draw. With the draw, both teams are mathematically out of the running to make it into the Semi-finals.
