Indian badminton starlet PV Sindhu has made it to the final of the 2015 Macau Open tournament.
PV Sindhu has made it to her third straight final in the Macau Open after defeating Akane Yamaguchi in the Semis. The score read 21-8 15-21 21-16 in favor of the Indian.
PV Sindhu, who won the tournament in 2013 and 2015, defeated Chen Yufei of China 21-13 18-21 21-14 in the quarterfinals to progress into the semis. Sindhu had earlier defeated Lindaweni Fanetri with a score of 21-17, 21-18 to book her berth in the Quarterfinals of the tournament.
Elsewhere, the journey of Indians ended in the Men’s category when Sai Praneeth and HS Prannoy exited in the quarter-finals of the tournament. Praneeth, who was seeded 15th in the tournament was defeated by Goh Soon Huat in a highly contested match. The match had a final scoreline of 21-16, 21-23, 21-13.
HS Prannoy, meanwhile lost to Ihsan Maulana Mustofa for a score of 18-21, 21-19, 21-11. Another Indian in the mix, Ajay Jayaram was earlier knocked out of the tournament in the second round when he lost out to Lin Guipu for 21-11, 21-17. Kidambi Srikanth also had a forgettable outing when he was knocked out in the first round itself after a loss to Christie Jonatan.
