Kerala Blasters saw their dream getting crushed at the hands of FC Goa in the Indian Super League.
Kerala, who had a slight glimmer of hope of making it into the semi-finals, saw all it getting crushed under the flood lights of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.
Things seemed to be shifting in their way when they opened the game with a goal thanks to Pulga in the 2nd minute. But the joy was short-lived. Jofre leveled it for Goa in the 12th minute and silenced the home fans.
This silence would continue for the entirety of the match. Reinaldo, who assisted Jofre in the first goal, made it two for Goa in the 29th minute.
Tempers flared as the teams went into half-time and Kerala was reduced to 10-men after the sending off of Josu. Their miserable outing continued in the second half when Reinaldo went on to complete his hattrick (50’ and 61’).
Desai made it a five star outing for Goa in the 64th minute and this officially and mathematically ended Kerala’s hopes and dreams.
Goa, on the other hand, has one leg in the playoff places, much to the delight of their fans: a complete contrast of the 60 thousand people who made up the yellow army.
Final Score: Kerala Blasters 1-5 FC Goa
