Indian Badminton star Kidambi Srikanth has made it to the final of the Indonesian Masters Badminton tournament held in Malang, Indonesia.
Srikanth, who is the top seed in this tournament, defeated Indonesia’s Ginting Anthony in straight games to reach the final. Srikanth had a comfortable run in the first game and won it with a score of 21-13. Anthony produced some resistance in the second game, but Srikanth managed to overcome this and won it 21-19 to clinch the match.
Srikanth was having a tough time throughout this year and will be eager to end the year on a high by winning the Indonesian Masters. The Indian will now face off against the second seed, Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia.
Sugiarto defeated his compatriot Wisnu Yuli Prasteyo in the semi-finals with a score of 21-18, 21-18 to book his spot in the final of the tournament.
The winner of the tournament will take home a solid prize money of $120,000 from the tournament. Defending Champion HS Prannoy, RMV Gurusaidutt, and PV Sindhu, who were the other Indian representatives were eliminated early in the tournament.
