Indian Women Wrestlers Win Bronze, Men Fail To Impress

Vinesh Phogat and Geetika Jakhar added two bronze medals to India’s kitty as Indian Women Wrestlers did us proud on Sunday. They succeeded in winning the medals in the women’s freestyle 48 kg and 63 Kg respectively. The two male wrestlers who fought on the opening day were Amit Kumar(57 Kg Freestyle) and Parveen Rana(70 Kg Freestyle). Both the wrestlers were knocked out in the round of 16.   • Semifinals- lost to Xiluo Zhuoma (China)

More wrestlers will be in action on Sunday. The major attraction being India’s biggest hope and olympic bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt, who will be competing in the 74 kg men’s freestyle. In the women’s circuit, Babita Kumari will look for another medal finish.
