The last of the surviving hosts Somdev Devvarman and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan bowed out in the semi-finals of the Chennai Open. The pair lost in straight sets to Krajicek and Paire, who go on to play the final against Marach and Martin.
In the singles category, Stan Wawrinka continued his great touch at the tournament and made it to the final against Coric as he is set to defend his crown.

The Indian pair had lots of fight but lack of experience that made them suffer in the crucial stage. Somdev and Jeevan took their opponents down the wire in each set but failed to deliver the perfect finish and ended up losing 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) in straight sets.

He has lived up to his name as the defending champion at the Chennai Open. Defeating each of his opponents in straight sets and is yet to receive any tough competition this year. His opponent Coric on the other hand has been overcoming tough opponents in various closely fought matches.
