Consecutive titles for Stan Wawrinka

Top seed and defending champion Stan Wawrinka played top-level tennis throughout the tournament. In his matches he never lost a single set and he managed to keep it similar in the final as well. But Coric was not an easy customer for the defending champion.

Coric came successfully against the odds during the early stages of the tournament but the world number 4 was on a completely different level.

In spite of losing the first set without offering much difficulty, he came back stronger in the second set where he almost took Wawrinka down the wire after reaching level at 5-all. However, the experienced Stan was on his guard and defeated the nineteen year old. The final score read 6-3, 7-5.

It was an identical finish if you look at the score-board even in the doubles competition. The pair of Marach and Martin took the first game 6-3 and were made to work a little harder in the second set, which they won 7-5.
