Pretty much like the first semi-final of the Pro Kabaddi League season 3 between Patna Pirates and Puneri Paltan. U Mumba dominated the play in the first half against the Bengal Warriors continuing their fine-form in the tournament. The second half witnessed some strong fight-back from the cornered Warriors which proved insignificant against the defending champions. U Mumba made their way to meet Patna Pirates in the final with a fine win, as the score board read 41-29.
U Mumba progresses to consecutive finals
The whole game was controlled by U Mumba, there was not a moment during the game when it seemed that the Bengal Warriors could take the game away. However, Bengal Warriors were deemed favourites to take the game away on paper prior to the start with their magnificent raiders on course with impressive performances through-out.
The Warriors’ raiders seemed to have left their A-game behind them in the league. U Mumba went from scoring raid after raid and defended well. Rishank Devadiga and Mohit Chillar took charge for U Mumba on the raids and defense respectively. On the other hand, Captain Anup Kumar led a solid hand supporting the star raider of the night Rishank Devadiga (13 points – 11 raids, 2 tackles).
Just when it seemed all but over for the Bengal Warriors, they made a startling come-back and a turn-around seemed on the cards with seven minutes to play. However, the 20 point deficit proved too hard to overcome.
