Pankaj Advani won the World Billiard Championship today, beating Peter Gilchrist of UK in the finals. This is the eleventh World title for the Indian champion. This win is even more creditable as Pankaj Advani had taken a break from billiards in order to do well in the professional snooker tour. In the finals today, Pankaj Advani beat his old rival, Peter Gilchrist by six frames to two. Advani had lost to Peter Gilchrist in the group stages and hence this win would be doubly satisfying for the Bangalore native. With this win Pankaj Advani has demonstrated his class as well as his remarkable record in World Finals. He has also displayed his mastery of billiards and his ability to find form at such a short notice. Sports Rediscovered team salutes this great champion!
